Graduate Student Volunteer Form

MURALS (Multicultural Undergraduate Research Art and Leadership Symposium) intentionally reaches out to undergraduate students of color in various discipline to expose them to a variety of undergraduate research opportunities. Mentoring, presenting research, networking and learning about multicultural leadership are four main aspects of the program and we can use YOUR assistance. MURALS is slated for March 29, 2024. Please mark the date of MURALS in your calendar! Exact timing on 3/29 is from 8AM to 5PM. More information to follow.

How You Can Help

We seek participation from graduate students of color to aid in the evaluation process of the research and art presented at the symposium. We will provide you with the training and materials beneficial for being an evaluator to prepare. The categories we are looking for graduate students to be evaluators for include:

  • Creative Writing/Visual Art/Performing Art
  • Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM)
  • Service Learning & Leadership
  • Social Science/Humanities
  • Innovation and Experience

MURALS Objectives for Graduate Students Include:

  • Attend ONE 90-minute training session (dates TBD)
  • Reading & evaluating up to 10 abstracts (each are 250 words or less) through Microsoft OneDrive
  • Virtually attend & provide feedback for oral and poster presentations the day of MURALS (March 29, 2024)
  • Discussing graduate school opportunities with undergraduate students
  • Graduate students will evaluate presentations throughout the day
